What more???

So when we thought our life was going well, it did a 180. We are now without a vehicle as our van decided to stop running in front of the DMV yesterday. It wasn't the battery as we tried to get it jumped. We are at our wits end since it hasn't even been 30 days. It just bites because yesterday was a month to the day of my accident with the Honda, so it wasn't a good day for me already. Then we were excited about getting our licenses and couldn't even get that done. We got the van towed to a tow yard for free since Ian's parents were in Reno for the day, and they were the ones with AAA. We called Enterprise and got a rental set up, then had them come and get us and all of our junk that was inside the van. We got set up with a car and proceeded to drop the girls off at daycare. We went home to grab some lunch, let Ian get changed for his internship interview, then went to school. I e-mailed the sellers to let them know we were through putting money into a piece of c***. We'll see what they say....

So for now we are using Ian's parents car since we only had the rental for a day. We'll return it Wednesday night and hopefully that will give us time to figure out how I'm going to get to work each day until we get another vehicle.

Update: Ian didn't get the internship. It turns out they were looking for a kid to mentor rather than an intern, but he did get referred to a graphic design company who might need an intern. Both the state farm employee and his friend that does graphic design are members of our stake. Hopefully something will come of this, as we still have NO JOB. Remind me why we moved from a stable life in IA to having everything go wrong in CA????

I will get pictures posted soon, don't know when but I'll do it sometime.

New internship

I got the internship at Adams & Hayes Law Firm. I will be starting on Thursday, October 1st. This gives me a week from tomorrow to come up with some dress pants for work. I have the proper shoes and shirts, just need some pants. Luckily it's not too formal of a job where I have to wear a pant suit, skirt, or dress. I'm grateful for that...

Other news. Ian and I have found a replacement vehicle. It's a 1994 Plymouth Voyager. It's grey with tan interior. We had some mechanical problems with it in the beginning, but have since gotten it fixed. Luckily it was cheap enough, or we would've sold it back to the previous owners for selling us a lemon car. We're excited to have a vehicle of our own, and the best thing of all is we don't have any payments.

We are slowly getting things unpacked and into place. Send pictures of the apt later when it looks orderly.

Here are pics of the Honda from the accident. The claims representative from Progressive took these so I didn't have to go to the tow yard myself. I'm grateful as I think I would've crumbled. Can you not look at these and tell me God didn't have a hand in helping me to walk away with just scrapes and bruises, when I was supposed to die???

Here are the pictures of Hunter and I from the accident. Look at these with your discretion. The marks on Hunter are on her neckline on the right hand side. You can see a red mark/scratch/abrasion. The other pictures are of my face, my 2 legs, and my left arm.

Pictures of the damage to the car are coming when I get them from the insurance company.
