4 weeks left

We have found 2 potential places in Roseville (close to Rocklin and we're hoping in a good neighborhood). They're both under $900/mo for 2 bed, 2 bath, which for CA is unheard of unless you're in the slums. That's why i'm praying these 2 places are in a good neighborhood.

Ian is still sticking to working for Event Masters with Shane and helped him out yesterday. He'll be helping him Saturday at an event in Irvine (I think) and then strike (popping the balloons) on Sunday night. This week he'll have more hours so the money will be more coming in. This paycheck coming up next week should allow us to get caught up on bills for the month that we've been pushing back. Then hopefully things will stay steady enough that we don't have to ask for any more extensions.

McKenna is 3 weeks old (as of Wednesday) and she's still so small, but has been getting a little bigger. Still waiting for Medi-Cal to kick in so we can take her to the doctor. I delivered her at Kaiser but won't be able to go to Kaiser due to not having correct insurance (Kaiser or IEHP). Will try to get pictures of McKenna posted this weekend.

4 more weeks until the move. We'll be loading up a U-Haul trailer that will hold our stuff and his parents stuff. We'll get it on Friday (26th) and try to get it loaded that night. Clean on Saturday and turn in key and leave for Northern CA on Sunday (28th).

New pictures, still no job

Ok, so I have new pictures of McKenna that I will post. As for an update on us, Ian still has no job, except working for a couple of hours on Sunday night with his brother. We leave June 30th for Rocklin and I wonder if we will get caught up on bills by then. I hate being behind and not having money come in. Makes for some hot days at home with 1 fan in each room and no AC on, due to trying to keep the bills low for his parents. I pray that we will get everything ready for the move and have the condo cleaned in time to bring in potential renters. Since it's a private property, the landlord sends people over ahead of time to look at our unit before they move in. This means the carpets need to be cleaned, the walls, the bedrooms, etc. Time will fly by fast so hopefully his parents get in gear and get their part done.

Here's pictures of McKenna since being home. Our friend Becca is holding her, and the other picture is of her and her husband Scott.

Coming home

She will be released tomorrow, pending her tests come back okay tonight. She was supposed to be released Sunday, but her belly ruben test came back too high so she was put in an incubator with the lamps over her. She was taken off this morning (Monday) and she was eating 50 to 60 cc yesterday and today.

We are grateful for all of your prayers, love and support. We couldn't have gotten through this without all of you.

Have more pictures, but will do a separate post when she gets home.

Pictures and Update

She has been in NICU for 3 days now and she has improved a ton. She is off the IV and breathing tube and drinking 40 cc of formula. She passed her blood tests and car seat stress test with flying colors. Now they're just waiting for her to drink 45 cc of milk every feeding for 4 feedings straight before they'll discharge her. Here's some pictures for you all to enjoy...

Fine daddy, i'll open my eyes for you....
I like this picture of Ian and McKenna. She has him wrapped around her finger already. It's hilarious....
I kept switching her from one arm to the other so she's a little mad at me. She did calm down seconds after the picture was taken though..
I'm keeping an eye on you, daddy..

She's here

McKenna Joy Fitzgerald came into the world Wednesday, May 6th at 10:41 am. She weighed in at 6 lbs, 7 oz and 19 1/4" long. She has lots of hair that is dark, but at least she has hair. She is currently in NICU for some fluctuation in her heart rate. We are praying for her to recover fast enough for her to come home soon.

Now for an update on her. I have called the NICU nurse and McKenna was sleeping (imagine that at 11 at night, duh!!). The nurse said that since i've been home today she has finally decided to drink some formula and her breathing has normalled out. This means that she's able to be swaddled since they're not focused on looking at her chest anymore when she breathes. If she continues to eat 30ml or more and keep it down, she will be off the IV. This means there is a possibility that she will be released this weekend or Monday at the latest.

Prayers would be much appreciated. Thanks... Oh, and stay tuned for more updates and I will also post pictures of her.

Heading to hospital

We are headed to the hospital in an hour. I have been having contractions for the past 2 days, but after being examined, i'm only 1 cm dilated and 20% efaced. That was yesterday (Monday). Today we walked the mall to check on job opportunities for Ian, and ever since after dinner I've been having 1-3 minutes apart and they've been getting more intense as time goes on. The bags are packed, his parents have Hunter's car seat, and we're headed soon to get examined. Stay posted.

We've arrived

We are in CA (got in Saturday night just in time for dinner). It was a nice trip and I'm grateful to Ian's aunt and uncle for helping us into the house at 2:30 Saturday morning. Then getting up 5 hours later to make breakfast, and even taking care of me when Braxton Hicks got out of control. I even got to take a bath in a spa tub which was nice. Thanks Polly.

This week will be filled with getting food stamps switched over and WIC checks set up for CA. Then getting in for a check up at the hospital since a dr won't touch me with a 10 ft pole. Ian also needs to be looking around and hopefully get some interviews for this week. It will be good to have Ian home during the day.

I'll post more later when I have an update on how McKenna is doing. So far still pregnant and I'll be 36 weeks on Tuesday.
