1 week and 5 days 'til moving day

Yep, we're down to almost a week left before we pull out of Southern CA for good. Though we'll miss people from our ward, and we'll miss our friends, it'll be good for us. This will give us a fresh start and a new place to live. A new place to live our lives and raise our children. It'll give Ian a chance to go to school and for me to work and also raise the kids. I'm grateful that we both have family up there so we know we'll be busy during the holidays.

Ian is still working Sunday nights with Shane at Event Masters. He only works for 3.5 hours but it's more than we had before we got here. His parents have been busy with his mom finishing up work and us getting the bills paid and errands run to prepare for the move. Mary (Ian's mom) finally finished after 23 years of teaching and she is OFFICIALLY retired. Thursday was her last day at Bloomington High School. Now she'll look forward to watching McKenna and Hunter while we work, and is looking forward to spending more time with her grandkids and in-laws. Mike (Ian's dad) will be looking for work along with Ian and I. I am hoping to go back to Sears but depending on the hours that they can work me and requirements for working Sunday, I may be finiding a different job while I work Sears. I'm also debating taking schooling to become a secretary of some kind. I work well with people, excellent on the phone, profficient in the 10 key, and love customer service work. So far I've done cashiering but that's the closest i've gotten besides working in the Hardware department selling tools, which also gave me the chance to work side by side with customers and to satisfy their needs. I don't know if I'll get around to it anytime soon, but it's a dream...

McKenna just turned 6 weeks old and she had her first check-up. She weighed 8 lbs. 12 oz though you wouldn't know it since she's still in preemie clothes and diapers. Ian and I are enjoying her smiles to get us through these stressful times. Hunter has her good days and bad days, but we enjoy her good days a lot better. We cherish them and can't wait for the moves to be over (I'll explain in the next paragraph), so she can be back to her old self. She senses the stress of all of us which causes her to act out.

We have 2 moves coming up. We are moving from Grand Terrace to Dutch Flatt to live with Ian's grandparents. After we raise enough money, then we'll move from Dutch Flatt to either Roseville or Rocklin where we will finally be on our own. Ian and I are hoping to make it out of his grandparents before my birthday (August 2nd). Prayers would be much appreciated....

Look for updates and more pictures to come soon.

I can't believe you're almost moving again. It doesn't seem like that long ago you moved from IA. Hope you're doing well. Sounds like McKenna is growing well! LOL! Love you!

Oh, I really wish you so much luck with this move Jennifer. I know it has to be so stressful on all of you and especially Hunter who really doesn't get what is going on (with new baby, moving, and now moving again). I am glad you get to have a fresh new start and that you will even have Mary there to watch the girls while you work. It makes it so much nicer to have family to help with kids because you know they will be loved and well taken care of. Good luck. I really do dispise moving, so I am sending you lots and lots of luck. And I look forward to getting to listen to you speak on Sunday. Brian told me you and Ian would be speaking. Good luck planning that too :)
